Hello to all of my subscribers and followers!
Welcome to my monthly newsletter! Let’s have a catch up of what happened at our last Wild Hygge group, I’ll let you know what events I’m leading this month that you can come to, and how to connect with me if you live further away from Berwick. Keep reading for a FREE recipe card that I created for you to download and use too!
Last Month’s Wild Hygge
In May we met in glorious sunshine (for once!) and had a beautiful time meditating with the trees that surround the little sanctuary at Palace Green Pavilion. This is where every Wild Hygge session has been so far, and it really is a peaceful place. We lit the fire and chatted, I led a deep listening activity and then we chose a tree to spend some time with.
We all came back to the circle feeling restored and relaxed, where we then learned about some medicinal ‘weeds’ - Ribwort Plantain, Yarrow and Daisy - which we made into a First Aid Balm for insect bites and stings, burns, bruises, cuts and scrapes. Very versatile and very easy when you know how - and I’ve decided to gift you all the recipe card for free! Here it is below, and when you’ve finished reading this you can download the pdf version at the end (scroll all the way to the bottom for the link).
What’s on in June
Yoga and Wild Medicine Workshop
On Friday 14th June I am travelling down to Felton in Northumberland, to co-lead a lovely workshop with Becca Poremba. The day will run from 10am til 1.30pm, with yoga in the morning, homemade lunch, and a foraging walk and medicine-making led by me. We will be learning how to engage reciprocally with Nature, forage for native plant medicine and create our own tincture to take home. Spaces are £35/£20 concession and you can book by emailing Becca on bporembatherapies@gmail.com, or replying to this email.
Becca is a wonderful yoga teacher and runs Flow In Felton - a yoga studio and retreat space, and she is passionate about serving the community. Her yoga studio is calm and welcoming, and her sessions always feel like a gathering of old friends!
June Wild Hygge
The next Wild Hygge group is on Sunday 16th June, and as the Summer Solstice falls just a week after on June 21st, I thought it would be lovely for us to celebrate Midsummer together. We will be making and drinking Elderflower Cordial, learning about traditional and historical ways to celebrate this time of year, and just taking a real pause for a couple of hours in this busy season. Come into the garden with me, shut the gate, leave your to-do list outside and join the wild community for a reset!
Book your place with me if you’d like to come - just reply to this email or message me - Spaces are £12, or pay-what-you-can-afford. If you want to bring your older kids they’re very welcome for £6 each, share with your friends too!
A new way to learn with me
And finally, there’s a new way to connect with my work - by joining my paid substack membership! The newsletter you’re currently reading is free, and I will continue to send out this free monthly email, but you can also choose to upgrade to paid and get more benefits directly from me.
Wild Revival Membership
By joining my community of paying subscribers, you will receive monthly longer posts about plants and Nature - seasonal wisdom, lots of information and photographs of wild plants, inspiration and ideas to help you connect with Nature and what to look out for in each season. On top of this, I will craft foraging guides, plant ID sheets and recipes which you will receive in your inbox and be able to download and print if you like!
Thankyou for reading this newsletter - I hope to see you at one of my sessions this month, or welcome you into my online community. Send me a message if you need help upgrading your subscription, or have any questions!
